They Say It's Your Birthday ...

Today, I turn 40 ... so I know I will celebrate with 40 swings! Oh and some other stuff too! On one hand it is just another birthday and on the other hand it is a huge reminder of the passage of time.

Also ... I am going to take a bit of a hiatus from this blog. I know ... I have not really been posting much as of late anyways ... but I am one of these folks that needs to give myself permission to step away. This has been a challenging year personally and professionally and I need to reevaluate, process and grow. I am not quitting ... so expect me to reappear if you have google reader in the next few months.

This is how I feel! :)

Another Picture Post!

Look ... more pictures! I have been enjoying my time at my parent's house a great deal. I head home to California tomorrow and I really do not want to leave. This time at home has been very nice ... one of the best times in a while. Right now I am sitting with my mom, the 8lb Wonder is snuggled into my leg and we are watching some silly T.V.

Here are some more pictures ... from Boston and my weekend away.

The Swan Boats in Boston Public Gardens.

Quincy Market.

The Citgo sign you see in the outfield during the Boston Red Sox games.

A Fenway Park drive by!

After Boston we went up to N.H. to visit my cousin for a night. In the morning we had breakfast at The Grain Box Restaurant in The Barn Store. Yes, it is a "diner style" counter in the store. I love going there. If you check out the link you will see that the place has everything you would need for a rural farm ... from boots to feed to sheep chutes to seeds to toys to compost toilets to guns ... it is all in one place. For a semi city girl like me ... it is fascinating!

This past weekend I went over to Connecticut with two of my oldest friends for an early birthday getaway. They are both married with kids so it was a very nice weekend of relaxation, catching up and sitting on the dock in the sun.

My grandmother's cottage in Connecticut.

The dock across the street from the cottage.

The view of the lake from the dock.

The duckies on the lake that come by for snacks.

The 8lb Wonder still loves sitting in the window. It will be very sad for her to go back to Cali.

It Is Great To Be Home!!

There is something to be said about being in New England with wonderful weather and family. I am attempting to share some pics here ... they are taken with a camera phone ... so not the best quality ... and I am not sure how to post multiple pics ... but here goes!

Lobster, drawn butter, a baked potato, clam chowder and a Jack and Coke ... sitting on the deck by the ocean ... pretty much perfection.

This was the view from the deck at the O'Club where we had dinner.

The rocky beach where we start our walks with the dogs every day and collect sand glass.

This is the path we come back on ... you can see my folks and barely make out two little wiener dogs.

Just more pretty water to see. The walk includes heading up over a hill, out to a peninsula, thru an athletic field, around some barracks and back to the beach.

The 8lb Wonder feels like she is away at summer camp with all the freedom. Plus she gets to sit in the window and watch all the birds and little animals roam around.

And I got a pair of these as an early birthday present ... had to go with a girlie color. :)

I think that is all for now ... hope everyone is doing well here in Blogland!

Dunkin Donuts!

Ahhh ... Happiness!

As I walked off the plane and down to baggage claim after my all night flight from LAX to BOS, my parents were waiting with a hot cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

It is good to be home!
